About Me

I have always liked to make people feel "pretty" and that makes it really easy to love what I do.

Growing up, I was lucky enough to have very supportive parents who nurtured this passion. My father was always ready and available to tolerate a makeover, which helped to plant little seeds very early on about what I would enjoy as a career later in life. This tradition actually continues to this day with endless makeovers for grandpa from my daughter Jaci and my niece Olivia. Luckily, now we have more photo evidence of grandpa's makeovers documented with this new generation of young beauticians.

After graduating from high school, I knew right away that I wanted to be an aesthetician. I graduated from the Esthetics program at Midwest College of Cosmetology in Normal in 2003.

My first job as an esthetician was at Merle Norman. During my time there, I quickly realized how much I loved doing eyebrows. I loved the way I could instantly improve the appearance of the face.

Soon after this, I got a job at a local spa in Bloomington, Empire Spa. While there, I learned so very much about providing good customer service and professionalism. I enjoyed performing facials for many years, until I became bored with solely providing healthy skin maintenance. I wanted to do more. I wanted to do services that could change the appearance of the skin. I wanted to help people feel better about themselves. I wanted to change lives.

Several years later, I had the opportunity to join a busy new dermatology office in Bloomington. I worked at the Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute for almost two years. Working as both an aesthetician and a medical assistant, I assisted in Mohs surgeries and biopsies alongside Dr. Leone and Dr. Schupbach. Being able to see and handle the skin in this new way was fascinating for me. After so many years of working with just the surface layers, I was finally able to see with my own eyes all the different layers that make up the skin and how it functions. I learned how to recognize skin cancers and common skin disorders because I saw them every day. This experience was absolutely vital to my growth as a seasoned, knowledgeable aesthetician. I gained the knowledge and the ability to provide comprehensive skin care in a way that I never had before. I am so thankful to the Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute for helping me grow as an aesthetician and further develop my passion for skin.

I first heard about microblading in 2014. As soon as I learned what it was all about, I knew I had to do the training so I could provide this service. After all the years of just removing unwanted hair, this new ability to add "hairs" was too tantalizing to pass up!

It was two years later at Serenity MedSpa in Normal that I finally had the opportunity to pursue my dream and complete the microblading training. The experience was incredible, even better than I could have imagined. I was hooked!

I trained with Sandra Plasencia of the Chicago Permanent Makeup Academy. She is a super talented, well-known, decorated Permanent Makeup Artist in the city and she has offered me constant support, encouragement and guidance throughout my microblading career. I am so thankful to her for all she has done for me.

I am also grateful to Serenity MedSpa for allowing me the opportunity to gain this skill I have wanted for so long. During my time there, I was able to build my microblading portfolio to almost 100 clients serviced. I couldn't have done that without them.

After years of friends, family and clients telling me I should go off on my own, I am finally ready. I am thrilled about this new adventure and am excited to see what's in store for Bless These Brows. I fully devote myself to my clients and thoroughly enjoy getting to know each one. The opportunity to help others see themselves in a more positive way is what drives me. I hope to meet you soon!
